Philly Cheese Steak Pizza

This may not be authentic, but it was good. Another perfect example of taking something good and making a pizza out of it. If you missed last weeks post, check out my “Croque Madame Pizza”.

Leftover flank steak turned into another sandwich turned pizza. You could saute the veg before but I like the bite and crunch they still had.

Ingredients

  • Your favorite pizza dough
  • Your favorite jarred pasta sauce
  • Leftover steak, cubed
  • Onion, sliced
  • Bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 portobello mushroom cap, diced
  • 4 oz provolone cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

  1. Heat the oven with a pizza stone to 550° F.
  2. Stretch or roll the pizza dough to your liking. I prefer a thin crispy crust, so I cook the crust a little before adding toppings. If you are like me, add the dough to the pizza stone for a few minutes.
  3. Once the crust is to your liking, add sauce to lightly cover. Add the mushroom, shredded cheese, steak, onion and then bell pepper.
  4. Place pizza on the pizza stone and cook until cheese is melted and crust is crispy. Enjoy!
